Why brain dumps fail you twice
Brain dumps look like a shortcut. They are actually two failures stacked on top of each other.
A brain dump is a website that publishes the questions from a current live exam pool, usually obtained by candidates memorizing items during the actual test and posting them afterward. The pitch is irresistible: instead of studying for 80 hours, memorize the dump for 10 hours and pass.
Failure one: certification revocation
Every major certifying body — CompTIA, PMI, AWS, ISC2, Cisco — explicitly prohibits the use of brain dumps in their candidate agreements. They run automated and manual detection: response time patterns, answer patterns, IP correlation between dump-site visitors and test sittings. Candidates whose results match the detection signature have their certifications revoked, sometimes with multi-year bans on retesting. The cert you "earned" in 10 hours can be taken back, and the path to ever earning it legitimately gets harder.
Failure two: the credential evaporates anyway
Even if you avoid detection, brain-dump-based prep teaches you the questions, not the concepts. Certifying bodies refresh question pools — quietly, often, and aggressively for high-volume exams. The dump you used last month may be 30% out of date next month. The concept understanding that real study builds is portable across question pools; dumped memorization is not.
And then there is the job
The deeper failure is the job itself. The certifications that employers care about are signaling devices: they tell the employer "this person knows the material the cert covers." A candidate who brain-dumped the cert but cannot do the work either fails the technical interview, fails the probation period, or fails on the job in a way that damages their reputation and their employer's. You do not actually want a job you cannot do.
The honest path is also the faster path
Real study, paced over four to eight weeks, supplemented by free practice tests and an honest review of every wrong answer, is the cheapest, fastest, most reliable way to earn a certification that holds its value. It is what we built ExamEdge Prep to support.
